The Bluegreen vacations, also known as the Bluegreen vacations duel, is an annual preparatory event before the Daytona 500 of the NASCAR Cup series. The Bluegreen vacation duel serves as a qualifying round for the NASCAR cup series. The Bluegreen vacations consist of two 240km races held a day prior to the main event Daytona 500. The finishing lineup of these two races becomes the starting grid of the Daytona 500.
The Bluegreen vacations duel takes place at the Daytona international speedway, a purpose-built 2.5 miles(4.0 km) racetrack for car races, which consists of a smooth asphalt paved oval-shaped circuit.
The inaugural event of the race, held in 1959 from 1959 to 2020, had many names and sponsors. In 2021 Bluegreen vacations, an American vacation ownership company announced its title sponsorship for the event in February 2021, and then it was named “Bluegreen vacations duel.” Being a vacation ownership company, it offers exclusive facilities for the members, like behind the scene access to races, parties, a first-class lounge, a ride on the track, and many other one-of-a-kind experiences for their premium members. The last event of the Bluegreen vacations duel was in 2021 and won by Alex Bowman(race1) and Austin Dillon(race 2)
