About the race
The Daytona 500 is an opening event for the NASCAR cup series, contested over 200 laps on the 2.5 Mile (4 km) oval-shaped race track. Thousands of fans gather to witness the thrill. It has been held at the same venue since its inception in 1959. The first race was won by Lee Arnold Petty.
The previous event took place in 2022 and was won by Austin Louis Cindric, an American professional race driver.
